Tourism and Hospitality Industry Post COVID

We all know what Corona Virus has done to the world. With Malls shut, roads empty, almost 3.5 million affected worldwide it is a catastrophe that the world has never sen before. It has surely changed the way we live and work. The tourism industry is the worst hit and is far from getting back to normal anytime soon.
With all this happening the businesses running in the tourism and hospitality sectors now have to look for alternate solutions to run their business. Some countries have come up with a stimulus package for business owners and the others are still contemplating but are far away from realising it.
Business owners of Airlines , Hotels and Travel companies must come up with alternate solutions such as investing in other forms of business that are more COVID friendly. Services such as online delivery, online dating and medical equipment along with door to door grocery delivery couold be one of those. If you are on that side of the fence where your business has suffered you need to upgrade your business to a more online environment.
If you work in the travel industry and are out of a job now you need to immediately develop skill sets which are now required, as once this is over things are going to be back to normal and then you will wonder about getting back to work.

Another very important aspect of COVID has been the mental and physical health of the people not only who are diagnosed but also the ones who have been remotely affected. The impact of COVID19 is still difficult to completely asses until a couple of months unfold but its will be good to stay invested as it is sure to pass and when it does things will go back to normal. It has happened with MERS and SARS.
Also the TAAI and TAFI should urge the Government to provide stimulus package to Tourism and Hospitality  Sector and must come up with a Tax holiday or a near to Zero Tax regime. Atleast long term loans with extremely low rate of interest will go a long way.
At this time regional cooperation is more than required as it is only through mutual region cooperation that we will be able to mitigate the risks in order to be self sufficient, assure movement of goods, provision of essential food and medical supplies and  safe movement of People can be assured

Leaders around the world recognise that the future workspace is going to be a hybrid - virtual and face to face.Lack of cooperation is immense in society.
